For over 20 years, the Calgary Dream Centre (CDC) has been dedicated to serving Calgary’s most vulnerable—those facing challenges such as addiction, homelessness, and despair. As they reflected on their journey, the team recognized a gap in how clearly their mission and impact had been communicated. We partnered with them to help clarify their message and more effectively share their story with the community.

Insight

How you communicate shapes how people see you. For CDC, that meant moving from confusion to clarity—from being mistaken as a sleep clinic to becoming known as a beacon of hope for Calgary’s most vulnerable. A clearer message meant a stronger foundation to grow support and tell their story with purpose.

Solution

We started with brand strategy—clarifying their mission, vision, and purpose—then built messaging, a refreshed visual identity, and a roadmap for marketing and communications. Alongside foundational work, we dove into donor data and audience segmentation to unlock quick wins and long-term growth opportunities.

Heartbeat Video

The journey to recovery begins with the courageous decision to ask for help. We developed a branded heartbeat video to honor this pivotal moment so many CDC alumni have experienced.

Through a deeply resonant narrative, this film transforms the overwhelming feeling of "rock bottom" into a message of accessible hope. It serves as a powerful reminder for those considering taking that first step to recovery that no struggle is beyond hope.
